v30 Published Mar 12, 2026 #changelog#balance#features

Major New Mechanics

  • Three public queues: The home page splits into FFA / Teams / Special. Special always carries 1–4 modifiers, cranking chaos to the max.
  • Visible lobby players and settings: Just like private lobbies, public lobbies now show the current player list and room settings after joining.
  • Reconnect: Network hiccups or accidental page refreshes no longer drop you from the match — rejoining the same game is supported.
  • Rail snapping: Buildings placed on existing rails used to disconnect them — now they automatically split and connect into the existing network.
  • Attack panel rework: The attack ratio bar is integrated into the unit display — centered, compact, mobile-friendly.
  • Player info panel moved to the top: Mobile optimization.
  • Configurable Nation count (0–400): Single-player / private lobbies move from “Nations on / off” to a 0–400 slider.

New Modifiers (Public Special queue)

  • Crowded: 125 players crammed into a small map, recreating the YouTuber brawl.
  • 25M Starting Gold: Everyone starts with 25M gold and a 2.5-minute spawn immunity prep window.
  • Hard Nations: About 20% of HvN sets Nation difficulty to Hard.
  • Alliances Disabled: All alliances forbidden.
  • x2 Gold: Gold income doubled, fast-forward pace.
  • PVP Immunity: In 5M Gold mode, adds 30 seconds of PVP immunity to prevent instant kills.

Maps (12 new)

Alps (pure land, train trading), The Box (perfectly flat, pure land), Hawaii, Traders Dream, Yenisei (originally removed, scaled 3× down and back), San Francisco, Arctic (polar projection, Cold War NPCs), Nile Delta (with Suez Canal), Passage, Bosphorus Straits, Bering Strait, Aegean (Greek-Turkish, city-state NPCs).

Nation AI

  • Same-team Nations automatically stop trading with the enemy, no longer “skip the strong”, and now save up reasonably for team combat.
  • In 5M Gold HvN, Nations no longer flash-build at the start — the first building defaults to SAM.
  • Port placement is more evenly distributed.

Strategies Players Should Adjust

  1. Trade ship cap of 400 changes port strategy: The v24-era “ports have sharply diminishing returns” logic flips — multiple ports + upgrades recombine into the optimal solution.
  2. Don’t make rail chains too long: Diminishing returns kick in at the 5th city — 3–5 station short chains + multiple parallel lines beat one long chain.
  3. SAM cooldown stretched to 12 sec: Single SAM coverage density drops, so either stack multiples (range stacks since v27) or place multiples to form a relay.
  4. Special queue is for short casual matches: FFA / Teams remain the formal modes, while stacked Special modifiers are for mindless brawls.
